This ethical trek is an extended journey of short Annapurna-Dhaulagiri, “Taste of Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trail”, that takes you, up close to the spectacular Himalaya, seeing and visiting more rural community area and people.

This trek offers an inspiring experience of the rural Nepal and their local cultural insight with stunning snowy mountain views. The trail takes you through the beautiful villages, continuing to the scenic Khopra hill, the southern ridge of mountain Annapurna South (7200m).

There is an optional visit to the pristine alpine Khayer lake before descending down to the deepest gorge of holy Kali Gandaki via the slate-roofed settlements of Paudar village to adventurous drive back to Pokhara via Beni.

The Trek:

This trek starts from Galeshwor (3 hours drive)located to the west of Pokhara and trek through the villages of Nangi, Tikot, Swanta and Paudwar via the spectacular view points of Mohare Hills and Khopra ridge. You will be walking from some 6-7 hours a day on average, though sometimes it’s much less and sometime longer.

The added highlight is, all the lodges are fully managed and run by the communities themselves, directly benefiting the whole community economically, and helping generating the employment opportunities for the youths and needy. The schools are the main beneficiaries of this project. The community organic farms (the orange juice factory), community forest and many other activities collectively carried out for the whole community.

Moderate to strenuous Adventure, with the highest point being 3600 (Khopra) and 4600m (Lake)

 

Season/time to go on this trek:

This trek can be done throughout the year. However, if you are looking for settled weather and clear mountain views, it’s the autumn, winter to spring and summer.
