Bilbao's "Casco Viejo" is known as the "Seven Streets" and it's always been the heart of the city. The area was rehabilitated after some floods in 1983. The Casco Viejo combines the old pedestrian streets and traditional Basque shops with the most innovative bars and restaurants where you can taste the very best of Basque cuisine.

Get to know what's in Bilbao

In its corners are the oldest churches and monuments of the city: the Cathedral of Santiago, the Church of San Antón, the Mercado de la Ribera, the Municipal Library of Bidebarrieta or Plaza Nueva, a place of entertainment and a setting for many ludic and festive events, such as the Sunday market or the Santo Tomás fair. But it is not just a city, between these walls has been born a traditional wine from the area, Txakoli.

Discover how the wine is made, the vineyards with unbeatable views, a tasting of the good txakoli wine while you taste the typical products and observe the mountain and the San Mamés arch.

Discover how the wine is made

To know the traditional way of making the Txakoli, we will take a 30-minute train to see villages inland to Lezama, where a minibus will pick us up to take us to the winery. The vineyards are visited, and a tasting of different Basque Country wines is conducted under the direction of a txakolinero teacher to find the taste, smell, and taste of txakoli.

We will also try traditionally prepared products such as txorizo, bread, and cheese from the area. The tour includes a return to Bilbao.
