Five Lakes Trekking adventure!

This is the trek to five pristine and sacred lakes called Panch Pokhara. They are located to the north of Kathmandu beyond the Helambu area, and to the east of famous Langtang on the lap of Jugal and Gauri Shankar mountain.

 

The area is very untravelled, therefore off the beaten track with the natural forest of rhododendron, pine, bamboos, oak and many other evergreen forest species. The trail offers beautiful scenery of landscapes and the panoramic mountain views of the Jugal range. It’s also a quite a cultural trail with diverse ethnicity along the trail.

The Trek:

This trek starts after a scenic drive to Chautara in the northeast of Kathmandu. It’s beautiful to experience waking up in nature close to the majestic mountains. The morning walk can last for some 4-5 hours roughly though it entirely depends on the individual.  Lunch will be served at mid-day and the trek continues to the campsite for another 2-3 hrs, where hot drinks will welcome you. Once you arrive at the campsite, there will be time to freshen up, find your tent, enjoy the hot drinks and relax.

Trek grade/level:

Moderate to strenuous with the highest point being 4100m at the lake.

 

Staff and trip safety:

Your guide has the experience of leading guests in the most remote parts of the country. They are very careful not to impact the environment and the rural area/community negatively, making sure the trek is also very safe for our guests.

 

Flora and fauna

Nepal is blessed with rich biological diversity. There is always some excitement of encountering the wildlife including the lesser cat Leopard and many other animals. The birds are the most abundant that makes the trail very exciting.

The plants and trees are also the feast of our eyes with many with colourful flowers.
